Arrival at Berlin in Jan. 15th, we are very grateful to stay at Jasmine Gong's new home and feel cosy and warm...
Take the subway from Farhberliner Plaza to downtown, Ming joined us together...
Near the subway, we stopped by a kind of monument, which is about a remainder to the people of the war crime during the second world war.
There is a school nearby our home, and it is curious for us to take a look inside the campus...
Berlin is raining all the time during the stay, but we enjoy it as to the fresh air and the nature surrounded us...
Tree is significant to the artist's life, inspiring her to create numerous poems and painting work. Xueyi seems to say Hello to her old friend.
Go to a bookstore but it closed. Xueyi says that the girl on the cover page of this book looks like her.
Cherry blossoms in Berlin in Jan.! It is unbelieveable, as normally it blooms after spring festival. I told Xueyi that this blossom is specially for her.
Walking along the street near Alexandra Plaza, we happened to meet Mingming and her daughter again in the rain. What a small world!
That Pink Man seems to be very cool and sexy!
Then we visited a small museum about a hiding place for 30 Jewish kids during the second world war
We also visited Anne Frank exhibition which is very touching, Xueyi bought a poster and I bought a diary.
Also I left a message on the board for Anne Frank in Chinese:
Dear Anne, Your life is short but your spirit is eternal. Love from Catherine in Beijing, Jan. 17th, 2012
Wendy Hack and Marianna from Bonn specially flied to Berlin to meet us and we had champion together.
Berlin is still raining, but we enjoy the rambling around and do some shoppings in Berlin.
Take a break at Starbucks in downtown Berlin
Visit a studio of a young German painter, Alex, whose oil painting work is very interesting to us. We wish that we could bring his work to Beijing for an exhibition..
meeting Linda Baak, a friend in Berlin
visiting Dieter Jung, a great artist who was also the member founding council at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne.
We enjoy his works very much of both earlier oil painting and the new media ones.
In addition, we appreciate the spirit that one artist pursues his art in life, again approving
"Art is life
Life is Art"
Berlin is impressive, and beautiful with friends, art and fresh air of freedom...
