Sept. 7th arrival in Paris early morning
lunch invited by Mr. Lim, the gallery owner and senior officer of UNESCO, in UNESCO headoffice Paris, afterwards having a tour in this significant building、、、Xueyi with the flag of UNESCO

Preparing and Ready for opening
 
Sept. 8th, 2001 opening at 7:00PM and guests start to come, on the right side is a group of French friends, Piere, Milan and Edward etc., all Mathematician or professor.
Clico, the art dealer in UK, and her husband Robert specially arrive from London the afternoon and bring the flower boutique for Xueyi
 
Xueyi with flower boutique at basement of the gallery space, which has about 500 years old; that painting seems to be in this place for a long long time already...On the right are French friends Keta、Marc、Joaquin and Angela
Dear sister Feli (Frederike) arrives the same day from the Hague, Holland and diamond Boy Rudy, Young from Beijing, as well as other French friends Suzaane, a movie producer and G, an art collector, who comes by motorcycle...and another dear sister Caryn who especially flies from Bosnia for the opening. ( sorry that we did not have photo here for her)
Good friend Martin, a prestigous French musician and producer, comes along with his friend, photo with Xueyi and Jane

they seem to be exhausted after the opening, and group photo in front of the four panel works
French art consultant and collector Michel invites us to his home for champion to celebrate the successful exhibition
 
Laurence, the middle of the right photo, collects one poetry painting work in ink wash, invites us to her home for coffee and cake, the best cake I have ever had, and ask Xueyi to choose space for hanging the art.
 
Martin invites us a home dinner, and he cooks by himself...Great food, good wine and beautiful music, it is a really unforgettable night in life. On the right photo, Martin with Xueyi and Catherine in front of his collection, a real painting by Rubens
Japanese French Yoko, a music specialist living in Paris, invites Xueyi and Catherine at a cafe near Opera for a breakfast meeting, as her flight is at noon for the trip.
Of course we get together again with our dear sister Feli, a photo just in a street of Paris
 
The good friend of Catherine Cheng, the curator, Jane Jiang, speciall take the trip with the crew to Paris; Catherine and Jane walk along the river Seine, with photo right before the Notre Dame Paris; Right one is the house that Catherine and the crew stay with, a lovely French couple Keta and Marc, we call them French parent; Chinese tea in the morning and we also cook Chinese food for them, which really makes us feel as warm as home...Thank you very much, dear Keta and Marc! |
