Global Entertainment Website Report:
2006 Feng Zhongyun Modern Ink Painting Exhition was held in 3818 cool gallery of 798 art district in Beijing starting from March 29, 2006. This is the first time that Chinese Painting enters into 798 Art District, a contemprorary art center in China, and the initial purpose of this exhibition, according to the artist, is aiming to change the impression that Chinese painting is not contemprorary enough, through the recent painting works of Feng Zhongyun by employing his unique abstract yet modern wash painting style, further highlighting that the contemprorary Chinese Painting is international and pure as well.
Feng Zhongyun graduated from Chinese Painting Faculty of Central Fine Art Institute, and have been received a lot of awards both domestically and internationally. This exhibition exhibited his recent works with the motifs of Han Dynasty Series, Opera Series and Black Bird Series and the artist tries to emphasize the stucture and lines from his works instead of illustration or interpretation by using his grand modern ink technique, enriching the traditional theme with exceptional artistic quality, further displaying his works in strongly western-style abstraction. Feng firmly believes that abstraction is the trend by its intensily visual impact. At present the development of Chinese painting faces a serious bottle-neck, while the artist wishes to reveal that Chinese painting could also be very contemprorary and modern as well.
